We're super excited to announce that we have raised €3.5 million in a seed-funding round led by London’s Balderton Capital with participation from Connect Ventures, Tera Ventures, and leading angels including Barney Hussey-Yeo (founder of Cleo)! From Cino’s beginnings, with our co-founders working in parks to save money and build the first product, to now having users all across Europe who rely on our app every day, we have loved providing a service that our users love and we are ecstatic to continue advancing our mission to revolutionise how you handle shared payments.
We want to make life smoother so that you can focus on what really matters, ensuring that holidays with friends, date nights with your partner, or sharing daily expenses become effortless.
This new funding is the launchpad for our next wave of growth. We will expand Cino’s shared payments use cases, making it even easier for people to pay together in any situation, whether splitting the bill at a restaurant with friends, managing shared subscriptions, or paying bills with friends and family. Our first product has unlocked many of these experiences, but there are still countless opportunities to take this further, and with this investment, we’re committed to building a more seamless way for everyone to pay together, anywhere, in any situation.
We are also excited to bring Cino to new markets, with our next focus being the UK!
Our CEO and Co-Founder, Elena Churilova, said: “I tried every single tool out there possible to figure out how to make my weekends not into accounting exercises… Then I just had this moment of thinking, like, ‘Why is no one building a way to pay together?’”
Cino isn’t just about handling payments, it’s about reimagining everyday financial moments in a way that’s as connected as you are. Join us as we build the social layer of finance.
We also wanted to say a HUGE thank you to our users, without whom we wouldn’t be here today. So to every one of our amazing users, thank you for helping us get here. Your feedback, support, and belief in Cino inspires us to keep pushing boundaries. Now, let’s make “I’ll pay you back later” a thing of the past!
